Truck Insurance Specialist Scott Georgiades Gives Some Top Tips on Speeding Up the Claims Process
Attempting to settle truck insurance claims can be time comsuming, especially when you’re challenged with trying to run a business at the same time. Scott Georgiades, Director of Truck Insurance specialists Commerical Plan Insurance, offers some tips to speed up the process and in turn save policy holders money by improving their claims experience.
Commercial Plan Insurance has been providing high quality Truck Insurance at the lowest rates for Britain’s truck drivers since 2001, and is a specialist department within Plan Insurance Services, an independent brokerage with a book of business that has been established over 35 years.
Commercial Plan Insurance was created to ensure that clients receive expert advice from staff who specialise exclusively in commercial insurance. The company has become a market leader in providing Truck Insurance, and company director Scott Georgiades attributes their success not only to their exceptionally competitive rates, but also to their first-class customer service.
With over three decades of experience, we understand the needs of the customer. We can always obtain the most competitive quotation for Truck Insurance, and that’s why our customers come back to us year after year.
But that customer service doesn’t just stop at finding the most competitive truck insurance quote – the team know that dealing with a Truck Insurance claim after an accident can sometimes be a hassle, and try to advise their customers on how to speed up the Truck Insurance claims process. “Of course, accidents happen,” says Scott, “but there are a number of ways to make the Truck Insurance claims process smoother.”
One of the simplest ways a Truck Insurance claim can be speeded up is for drivers to be prepared and know what course of action to take at the scene of an accident.
Obviously the first thing to do is call the emergency services. An accident needs to be reported as soon as possible if someone’s been injured or there’s been damage to property. A Truck Insurance claim can be handled much more quickly if there’s proof that an accident was dealt with legitimately.
Drivers should also carry a pen and paper in their cab, so that they can take notes at the scene of an accident.
If possible, drivers should make a sketch and write down the details of any other vehicles involved, including the make, model and registration number. It’s amazing how many Truck Insurance claims are held up because companies are chasing their drivers for this information.
Drivers should also try to take the names, telephone numbers and addresses of any witnesses to the accident as quickly as possible.
Witnesses don’t hang around for long, and their accounts can really bolster a Truck Insurance claim.
And in this age of technology, most drivers are carrying round a key piece of equipment that will nearly always speed up the claims process – their camera phone. “Obviously, drivers are often shaken after an accident,” says Scott, “but they should be aware that taking a photograph of the damaged vehicles and any marks on the road will help a Truck Insurance claim, particularly if there’s a dispute. If they’re not up to taking a photograph, they could always ask a bystander.”
Truck Insurance companies can only deal with a claim when they have all the necessary information, so it’s vital that they are contacted as soon as possible.
Insurance companies can often deal with a Truck Insurance claim over the phone so it helps if drivers have all the information to hand so we can get a really comprehensive picture of what happened.
We want the claims process to be as swift and hassle-free as possible for our customers, so that they can get back to business as usual!
