Paul Gibson from thechauffeur.com test drives the latest addition to the Range Rover family… the Velar. A decade ago you would’ve never seen a chauffeur use a Range Rover, is that about to change?
In what has to be Range Rover’s prettiest creation, the Velar is also the most technologically advanced vehicle they have created. Under the bonnet of this velar, which is labelled the HSE D300, is a 3.0 V6 producing 300bhp, a stone through away from what you would find in diesel Jaguar XJ. Aesthetically speaking it is only 20mm shorter than a full Range Rover, how does this convert to the passenger experience and is this vehicle a realistic option for chauffeurs drivers and operators?
