Black Cab protest over TFL regulations
At the end of last month, we attended the London black cab protest that led some roads in the capital to come to a stand-still. Lines of taxis filled the roads, starting at the Palestra building, Blackfriars Rd and around London. If you had switched on the news, however, there was neither sight nor sound of it.
Plan Insurance Brokers staff attended to support the iconic cab trade, handing out some supplies for the drivers. Many parked their taxis and gathered in the roads.
We feel that there is a public safety issue in TFL not implementing existing legislation. Without doing so, TFL are failing to provide sufficient or consistent regulations for drivers in use of taxi apps.
We believe that existing laws need to be enforced to secure a level playing field.
