This year marks 30 years since the UK driving theory test was introduced, and a recent survey suggests many experienced motorists might struggle if they had to sit it again today.
Research conducted by AA Driving School, involving more than 12,000 drivers, found that fewer than half believe they would pass a theory test if required to retake it now. In contrast, almost 80% felt confident they would still pass the practical driving test.
The findings highlight an interesting gap between driving confidence and knowledge of the rules that underpin safe driving.
