Covid-19 Restrictions Road Map Summary

The UK continues to reduce its COVID-19 restrictions following the new rules that came into effect in England on 29th March. Here is a summary to help keep you up to speed on key dates and details on the COVID-19 Road Map.

The below information is correct as of April 27th 2021. Read down the columns for the restrictions relating to each of the four steps in the roadmap.

www.gov.uk will provide the latest information and updates to the UK Covid-19 roadmap.

Step 1: From 8th March…

Step 2: At least five weeks after Step 1, no earlier than 12th April…

Step 3: At least five weeks after step 2, no earlier than 17th May…

Step 4: At least five weeks after Step 3, no earlier than 21st June…

Schools and colleges are open for all students. Practical Higher Education Courses.

Indoor leisure (including gyms) open for use individually or within household groups.

 

International travel – subject to review.

By step 4, the government hopes to be able to introduce the following (subject to review).

Recreation or exercise outdoors with household or one other person. No household mixing indoors.

 

Rule of 6 or two households outdoors. No household mixing indoors.

 

Indoor entertainment and attractions.

No legal limits on social contact.

Wraparound childcare.

 

Outdoors attractions, such as zoos, theme parks and drive-in cinemas.

 

30 person limit outdoors. Rule of 6 or two households indoors (subject to review).

Nightclubs.

Stay at Home.

Libraries and community centers.

 

Domestic overnight stays.

Larger events.

Funerals (30), wakes and weddings (6).

Personal care premises, all retail and outdoor hospitality.

 

Organised indoor adult sport.

No legal limit on all life events.

Then from 29th March… Rule of 6 or two households outdoors. No household mixing indoors.

 

Minimise travel. No international holidays.

Most significant life events (30).

Outdoor sport and leisure facilities.

 

Self-contained accommodation (household only).

Remaining outdoor entertainment (including performances).

Organised outdoor sport allowed (children and adults).

 

All children’s activities, indoors parent & child groups (up to 15 parents).

 

Remaining accommodation.

Minimise travel. No Holidays.

 

Domestic over night stays (household only).

 

Some large events (except for pilots) – capacity limits apple. Indoors Events: 1,000 or 50%. Outdoor other events: 4,000 or 50%. Outdoor seated events: 10,000 or 25%.

Outdoor parents & child groups (up to 15 parents).

Funerals (30), wakes, weddings, receptions (15) and event pilots begin.

Other Key information and updates on Covid-19 Restrictions:

In Scotland, the ‘stay at home’ order will be replaced by a ‘stay local’ message from 2nd April, and many businesses will be permitted to reopen on 5th April. In Wales, if COVID-19 numbers continue to fall, the ‘stay local’ message will end on 27th March.
