The Craziest Used Car Dealer Websites

Producing a striking, well thought out website that provides a great user experience can take a lot of time and skill.

As used car dealers your website is your shop window to the online world. It should reflect your brand’s core values and inspire confidence to encourage prospective consumers to visit your actual premises or to make a purchase there and then.

In the fast moving internet age ensuring that your web presence remains current can no doubt feel like a constant task. Therefore we believe its only right that the best Used Car Dealer websites are duly recognised by the motor trade industry.

Hosted by TV’s Wheeler Dealer, Mike Brewer at The Brewery in London on November 28th the awards will attract motor trade industry movers and shakers from across the country. As we build up to this years awards we thought it only right to review previous winners:

2014′ winners were, Nicholas Mee & Company and as you can see from the screenshots below they shared a similar approach to 2015’s champions  Hardwoods.

They utilise a clean full screen template with a sharp crisp photo as the central focus. A traditional navigation makes finding what they need simple for browsers. Key sales points are made clear in text that is overlaid on the main image.

However if you’re looking for a slightly more left field approach you could opt for a similar site to Lings Cars.

Created by maverick Ling Valentine, who you may remember from his appearance on Dragon’s Den, the website manages to create an incredibly unique user experience. Despite breaking all the widely accepted rules regarding clean and simple lines it really works by capturing a browser’s attention.

The design stands out for its bold use of colour and flashing devices. It simultaneously causes a near sensory overload whilst making all the key calls to action stand out. Its a high risk strategy but Ling’s site is truly memorable and forms the centre piece of his unique selling point.

The site even  includes an interactive web cam that features buttons which allow browsers to taunt Lings’ sales team. When clicked they play songs in the office that his staff find annoying  such as The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be.”

So will this year’s winner of the Used Car Dealer Website of the Year be sleek and stylish or could our champion be something slightly more left field? We look forward to finding out.
