Is there a limit to the number of call outs you offer in a year?
With Plan Assist’s break down cover even the unluckiest of drivers can have peace of mind as you are entitled to up to 4 call outs in any one policy period.
How long will it take for you to reach me if my vehicle breaks down?
Just one call to our 24hour control room and one of our customer service operators will take full details of your location and specific requirements. We will then inform you of the recovery operator being instructed and despatch the agent to your location immediately.
Will you repair my vehicle by the side of the road?
Your Plan Assist Break down recovery cover includes up to one hours labour to carry out repairs to the vehicle by the side of the road. However if repairs are not possible, your cover includes transportation for you and your vehicle to the nearest suitable repairer.
Am I paying for a basic cover that will have a lot of hidden costs?
Your Plan Assist break down cover includes;
- 24 hour cover 365 days a year
- home start cover
- roadside assistance
- roadside start
- breakdown recovery
- accident recovery
- onward transportation to your original destination
- overnight accommodation
Plan Assist’s breakdown Cover includes extensive cover. Where an additional charge for parts or labour is required you will be notified in advance to approve the cost first. European Breakdown Cover is available at an additional cost.
How much does Plan Assist’s breakdown cover cost?
Plan Assist’s breakdown cover would normally cost £32.50.
Plan Assist’s breakdown cover comes free with any car, van, motor cycle or taxi insurance you purchase from Plan Insurance or Taxi Plan Insurance.
We’ve looked at our competitor’s websites and similar cover with the AA’s Option 400 Breakdown Cover is £132.50, with the RAC’s Solution 4 Breakdown Cover is £99.99 and Tesco’s Total Care Car Breakdown Cover is £79.00. Am I covered if my car won’t start at home?
Plan Assist will attend your permanent home address and assist should your vehicle fail to start. If we are unable to start your vehicle you will be towed to a local suitable repairer for assistance with the repairs.
If my car breaks down whilst someone else is driving it are they covered?
Your Plan Assist break down cover policy will cover recovery or homestart of your vehicle no matter who is driving your vehicle so long as it is with your permission and they are insured to do so.
Am I covered if I breakdown whilst driving someone else’s car?
Your Plan Assist break down cover policy covers recovery or homestart of the specific vehicle named on the policy. Cover does not include other vehicles that you may have use of.
Is there a limited to how far you will towe my vehicle if it breaks down?
A roadside repair will be carried out if at all possible, so you can continue your journey. If a roadside repair is not possible you will be taken to a garage of your choice within a 20 mile radius of the breakdown. If a repair at this garage is not possible within a reasonable time frame you (and your passengers if you wish) will be taken to one chosen destination.
If at any time you require another vehicle to complete your passenger’s journey for them,Plan Assist will help you arrange transportation. Your passengers will be liable for the cost of this journey.
If your vehicle cannot be repaired on the same day, your vehicle will also be taken to your chosen destination anywhere in the United Kingdom.
If I change vehcile during the policy period can I swap my break down cover to this vehicle?
When you call Plan Insurance to inform us of the change of vehicle on your motor insurance we will automatically switch your break down cover over to your new vehicle.
